BRIDGING THE FIBRE-OPTIC DIVIDE

The rapid expansion of WeTravel, fueled by successive funding rounds and a burgeoning reputation in the travel tech sector, created a modern corporate paradox: a global team deeply united by mission but physically separated by thousands of miles of fibre-optic cable.
For many of the 240 team members arriving from Kenya, the United States, or the Middle East, the rugged Sicilian coast represented the first time they had seen a colleague outside of a rectangular digital frame. The mission was to transform these fleeting pixels into permanent human bonds.

A Slow Approach, On Purpose

The retreat didn't begin on the island. It began in Bergamo, where the group spent its first night easing into one another's company before the real arrival — a deliberate buffer between inboxes and Italy. From there, the journey curved north toward Lake Iseo and across the water to Monte Isola, the largest lake island in Southern Europe and one with no cars allowed on its single coastal road. The advance party — Quansight's own management team — had already arrived days earlier at Sensole, the small lakeside hamlet that would anchor the week, scouting the rhythm the rest of the group would soon fall into.
A Slow Approach, On Purpose

SANDSTONE SENTINELS AND SALINE BREEZES

The resort stood as a sandstone sentinel perched atop a limestone cliff, a rugged peninsula draped in pine forests and surrounded by the endless cerulean of the Mediterranean. It was a setting that felt powerful and romantic without falling into the trap of decadent excess; it was, as one observer noted, "mildly luxurious but not lavish". The air carried the scent of resin and sea salt, and the only path to the private beaches involved a winding descent down stairs carved directly into the rock face. Meals were served on forest terraces where the ground was replaced by soft sand and the ceiling was a canopy of ancient trees. In this environment, the frantic "hustle" of tech life was replaced by a deliberate slowness. Smartphone screens, usually the ubiquitous companions of the digital nomad, stayed in pockets, as the team surrendered to the sensory reality of the Sicilian sun and the rhythmic sound of the tide.

THE ARCHITECTURE OF AL FRESCO CREATIVITY

The blueprint for the week was designed to pull the team away from traditional enclosures. While the resort provided state-of-the-art workshop rooms, the true intellectual work happened in the wild. Breakout groups, workshops, and strategic discussions spilled out across the entire premises, appearing spontaneously by the pool, deep within the pine forest, and on the sun-drenched terraces of the cliffs. This "creative in nature" approach allowed the group to inhabit the surrounding landscape while dismantling the usual silos of a scale-up.Beyond the campus, the team journeyed to the enchanted town of Cefalù, where thousands of years of history—from Norman cathedrals to ancient waterfronts—provided a grounding counterpoint to their tech-forward future. One of the most evocative moments occurred not in a meeting room, but on a massive rock overlooking the ocean terraces. There, the CEO delivered a welcome address as the first "Welcome Aperitivo" began, the sea breeze carrying his words across the assembled group. The week was punctuated by rituals, most notably a sunset fire ceremony that served as a visceral symbol of the company’s enduring energy and shared purpose.

Campfire organized an outstanding retreat for our company in Sicily, accommodating around 200 participants. Everything was top-notch, from the shuttles to and from the airports to the food, accommodation, workspaces, and even social areas. Letizia and her team were incredibly responsive and practical whenever we had new requests or needed changes throughout the week. This was our second experience working with Campfire, and we hope it won't be our last.

We partnered with Campfire for our company's annual retreat. As a UK-based company, this was the first time the company went abroad for it and finding a partner that could help us sort out all of the details, spoke the local language and plan a truly memorable event was vital to its success. Over several months we worked closely with Letizia and the Campfire team to brainstorm and plan every last detail for the retreat in Italy. They were well organised, great at communication and always reachable when we had any questions. They ensured our team of over 30 were well taken care of at the venue and made sure that every request was handled in a timely manner. They helped us pull off the event beautifully and we definitely recommend them for corporate retreat planning!

We used Campfire for the first time this year, and our annual company offsite turned out to be the best one yet. I had the pleasure of working with Letizia and Francesca, who were both incredibly understanding and accommodating. They took the time to listen to our needs and offered thoughtful suggestions for activities, which ended up being the highlights of the trip. Thank you both again for making it such a great experience!

Great organized trip to Portugal. Every small issue was addressed as best as possible. Additionally, our local guide was just amazing, dealt with everything and was still able to find a few minutes for everyone to learn some more things about our location and Portugal in general.

The most meaningful part was seeing the clients... and realizing that they recognized me and were happy to see me. In that moment, I truly understood the essence of what we do—creating long-lasting human connections between people that are normally not together.
