THE ARCHITECTURE OF ASSEMBLY
Framer is a company built on the precision of design, yet its own structure is remarkably fluid. With a team scattered across twenty-two cities—from the canal-side offices of Amsterdam to the distant reaches of the American West Coast—the company exists in a state of permanent, high-velocity growth. The mission in Mallorca was not to solve a problem or iterate on a product, but to simply inhabit the same space.

FROM NETWORK TO TRIBE
The logistical challenge was considerable: funneling 100 individuals from eighteen different nationalities into a single Mediterranean courtyard. There was a refreshing absence of the traditional corporate "programme." The leadership team recognised that for a group of this calibre, the most valuable resource was not a series of presentations, but the luxury of an empty afternoon. The objective was to transform a network of colleagues into a cohesive tribe through the simple, often overlooked medium of shared experience.

SANDSTONE AND STILLNESS
The atmosphere of the magical venue was one of heavy, ancient - yet playful permanence. The air carries the scent of wild rosemary and the faint, citrusy tang of the estate’s groves. Upon arrival, the transition was marked by a moment of quiet indulgence: a vintage cart in the courtyard, where fresh strawberries were dipped into chocolate before the eyes of the guests. It served as a sensory palate cleanser, signaling that the pace of the coming days would be dictated by the movement of the sun across the manor’s golden stone walls.
SHIFTING LIGHT
Mallorca in late September is a study in shifting light. One hour, the pool area was bathed in a brilliant, expensive warmth; the next, a sudden Mediterranean shower would turn the chapel’s stone floor into a cool, reflective sanctuary. The team moved through these changes with a practiced ease, the laughter merely migrating from the poolside to the arched interiors of the manor. The setting offered a certain dignity to the gathering—a sense that the group was part of a long history of travellers seeking respite within these specific walls.

THE RHYTHM OF THE RAILS
The design of the journey was predicated on the "Play Only" philosophy. Without a single workshop to attend, the group was free to follow the natural gravity of their own interests. Mornings were silent affairs of coffee and slow-moving Pilates in the chapel, while afternoons offered a curated menu of elective movement. Some chose the tactile pleasure of a cheese tasting, exploring the sharp profiles of aged Mahón, while others took to the winding island roads on bikes.

A SHARED JOURNEY
The centrepiece of the retreat was a journey on the Ferrocarril de Sóller. There is a specific charm in seeing a modern team occupy a train from 1912. As the wooden carriages rattled through the tunnels and olive groves of the Serra de Tramuntana, the environment forced a different kind of interaction. Without the ability to retreat into individual tasks, the group sat on leather benches, knees almost touching, surrendering to the slow, rhythmic crawl of the vintage iron. This was followed by a catamaran voyage, the team lounging on nets above the turquoise water as the sun began its descent—a communal observation of the horizon that required no commentary.
