For this one-of-a-kind piece, we are taking you “behind the scenes” and sharing with you a little bit more about us.
Last Monday on our weekly check-in, we asked each other: Outside of our own Campfire locations, what's the coolest and most unique hotel, host, and camping site you’ve ever been to?
That gave great content for this little piece. Here are our recommendations for a unique getaway with friends and family.
Morgane, our in-house copywriter, spent a romantic weekend getaway in the countryside not far from Exeter, Devon, UK. Two nights in a tree house at the Windout Barn. Not exactly the tree house you built as a kid in your back garden, the kind with a balcony overlooking the forest with an outdoor bath and a skylight!
‍

Fran, one of our Event Managers, mentioned a stay at Rifugio Serot, in the heart of the Lagorai mountain range in the eastern Alps, Italy. A wonderful place for relaxing days immersed in gorgeous nature, with a very welcoming atmosphere and delicious homemade food. Many trails are accessible from the refuge at over 1500 meters above sea level.

For Vittoria, our Product Implementation Specialist, it is Endoro Lodge in Tanzania. A village made of cottages, and it was in the middle of the forest. She enjoyed seeing monkeys jumping from one tree to another during the day and experiencing an insane starry sky by night.

Our Head of Sales, Federico, recalled an Ireland trip a few years back. His hotel, Cliff House, was literally on the cliff with amazing views of the ever-changing ocean from everywhere in the hotel: room, spa, and restaurant.

Account Manager Camilla shared about a dream Cabanes de Savignac in Corrèze in France. Beautiful (and comfortable) cabins in the forest with breathtaking views. Â

In Event Manager Valeria’s own words, the little flat she rented on the Hvar Island in Croatia was nothing special but the lovely interior design and the sea view from the terrace was amazing enough to make it to the top of her list.

Alessia, one of our accountants, picked a tiny Greek Island, Arki, that is mostly overlooked by tourists and very authentic.

Desiree, our HR rep takes us to a traditional Ryokan in Japan with a balcony under the stars at night and overlooking the sea.

For Eleonora, Event Manager, it is an Italian venue looking like a village on top of a hill with an incredible and peaceful atmosphere.

Event Manager Julia takes us to La Palma on the Canary Islands, where she stayed in a little guest house.
It was a really old house with traditional caves in lieu of bedrooms and bathrooms!

A couple of years ago, Marica, another of our Event Managers, traveled from Panama to Costa Rica. She had to stop in the middle of the mountains in Babuda Bambuda Castle surrounded by little hobbit houses. It was an amazing stay in such an unexpected place.

COO, Leo takes us 3256 meters above water level. To the Cabane de Tracuit, a trail stop in the Swiss mountains. There, you can stand on the window, looking down at the edge of the mountain.... feeling big and small all at once.

And last but not least, Account Manager Giulia shared her favorite spot: Â a gorgeous eco lodge in Kenya.

Many more secret locations were shared on that call, but we might want to add them to our Campfire ones, so we’ll keep these under wraps for now.
